Long Time No See

Long Time No See,
I have been busy so I haven't had time to post so this is going to be a MEGA POST(cue dramatic lightning). Starting from the top.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time  by Mark Haddon is a splendid book about a boy who takes everything very literally. He is wandering through his neighborhood when he finds his neighbor's poodle dead. The rest of the books unfolds as he discovers more about himself and who killed the dog.

A Modern Witch by Debora Geary is an amazing story about a girl, named Lauren, who enjoys living in her quiet apartment in Chicago, when one day while she is online shopping and gets dragged into an online chat for witches. Lauren's life quickly goes from peaceful to chaotic as she tries to figure out if she's a witch and what to do if she is. The book has a good dose of fantasy, while still being realistic. The book is also the first in the trilogy. I have not read the others and don't think I plan to because it seems to be a different story with some of the same characters.

I am now reading The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater is a book about a town that every November vicious water horses that come out of the sea that the townspeople race. As it says on the cover "Some race to win. Others race to survive."So far I find it very boring, but I am only on page 75. I have heard that it gets better around the 100 page mark, but for now it is slow and boring.
